When should I install my eSIM?

We recommend installing your eSIM between two days before departure and the day you leave.
This gives you enough time to complete the installation without rushing.
For most products, installing the eSIM in advance will not reduce your available usage period.

If you install the eSIM before departure

The usage period generally begins when the eSIM first connects to a supported network.
Therefore, simply installing the eSIM while you are still in Japan will not reduce your available usage period.
We recommend completing the installation in a calm environment, such as the day before departure.
If you install the eSIM in Japan, you may see a message such as "Activation Failed" after installation. This is not necessarily a problem.
The eSIMs sold through our service cannot be used in Japan, so activation may not complete while you are still in Japan.

If you install the eSIM after arrival

You can also install the eSIM after arriving at your destination.
However, an internet connection is required to install an eSIM.
Free Wi-Fi may not be immediately available after arrival. In addition, if you try to install the eSIM using an unstable Wi-Fi connection, the installation may fail before it is completed.
In some countries, such as Turkey, you may also be unable to install an eSIM after arrival.

Warning
If the installation fails, the eSIM may become unusable.
In this case, the purchase will not be eligible for a return or refund.

To avoid these risks, we recommend installing your eSIM using a stable internet connection on the day before departure or on the day you leave.
