There are a few settings you should check after returning to Japan.
In general, switch back to the mobile line you normally use in Japan and manage the eSIM you used overseas.
Turn on your primary SIM in Japan
After returning to Japan, turn on the primary SIM you normally use in Japan.
This will allow you to use mobile data and make calls as usual in Japan.
What to do with your eSIM after use
How you should handle your travel eSIM depends on whether you plan to use it again.
If you plan to travel to the same country again soon and use the same eSIM, we recommend keeping the eSIM installed and simply turning it off.
If you have registered for an account, you may also be able to recharge your data allowance for your next trip.
If you do not plan to recharge the eSIM or travel to the same country again in the near future, we recommend deleting the eSIM profile.
Removing unused eSIMs can also make it easier to identify the correct eSIM in your device settings the next time you use one.
Be careful when deleting an eSIM
When deleting an eSIM, make sure you do not accidentally delete the primary SIM you normally use in Japan.
If you accidentally delete your primary SIM, please contact the mobile carrier, store, or support desk where you subscribed to that line.
